Asheville City Council Primary Election News

by Asheville For All
January 9, 2026

Maybe you’ve heard: This election season, there are twenty people running for three seats on Asheville’s City Council!

And so we just have two quick news items to share.

First, Asheville For All is gearing up to make endorsements for this primary season. We are sending out questionnaires to all twenty candidates, and will post all of the responses that we receive at the start of February on our blog. A week or two later, we will share our official picks, just in time for the start of the early voting period.

Second, we want you to make sure you are registered to vote. You can check your voter registration on North Carolina’s website here. And you can find info on how to register to vote on that website here.

This election season, the housing shortage is shaping up to be a big local issue. Follow us via email and social media to stay informed as we get closer to election time.
